Orbit Logistics has acquired a new 416,000 square foot order fulfillment center in Ashland, VA . This property purchase doubles the space previously occupied by Orbit in Hanover County and is currently being prepared to be fully operational by October 2014. Orbit provides multi-channel fulfillment and warehousing services for a range of different industries.
Orbit’s business has expanded exponentially over the last 2 years with the company outgrowing its previous location in Hanover County, Virginia. Looking ahead there will also be room for future expansion on 26 undeveloped acres contiguous to the existing warehouse structure . The move will ensure that Orbit’s east coast fulfillment operations will exceed customer expectations and allow for future order fulfillment growth in central Virginia.
Features in Orbit’s new Virginia fulfillment center will include a spacious cross docks with 60 dock level doors, high bay warehouse, and low bay production and assembly areas. Orbit currently operates three eCommerce fulfillment centers in Virginia – Ashland, Charlottesville and Roanoke.
